This is the former Pierce House as it looked around 1908. Built in 1877, it variously served as a hotel, retirement home, county hospital, and nurses' training school. It 1928, it was moved three blocks from its original location at 215 First Ave SW to the corner of 2nd Ave SW and 5th St SW, where it stands today. Most recently a transient boarding house, it was sold in 2006 to the owner of neighboring Premier Bank. It is currently vacant, and speculation is that it will be torn down.
